Vanartsdalen Adds To Resume as Bloomsburg Blanks East Stroudsburg

BLOOMSBURG -- Ashley Miller (Shermans Dale/West Perry) scored three times and Jamie Vanartsdalen (Huntingdon Valley/Lower Moreland) moved into 10th place on the NCAA all-time career scoring list among all divisions as the Bloomsburg University field hockey team posted a 7-0 win over East Stroudsburg Wednesday night.

Bloomsburg got on the board quickly as Maggey Bloskey (Danville/Danville) scored just 58 second into the contest, while Miller would score her first of three goals at the four minute mark of the first half for a 2-0 Bloomsburg lead. Vanartsdalen's lone goal of the game would come at the 29-minute mark and pushed her into 10th place all-time on the NCAA career scoring list for all divisions of field hockey with 252 points. Vanartsdalen is the only Division II player in the top 10.

The Huskies added three more goals in the second half as Chelsea Due (Pen Argyl/Pen Argyl), Breanne Tobin (Perkasie/Pennridge), and Miller rounded out the scoring on the evening.

Bloomsburg, 12-1, 5-0 PSAC East, will host Slippery Rock on Saturday starting at noon.
